Specific Required Skills:
Infrastructure engineer with a minimum of 8-10 years experience supporting IBM zOS Systems in a SYSPLEX environment with:
- 8+ years of IBM z/OS performance engineering/capacity planning experience
- Proficient with RMF, RMF Tools and Monitor III usage and functions, SMF, and system monitors to perform z/OS and subsystem performance and capacity analysis.
- Required excellent knowledge in SAS and MXG, statistical and analytical skills. AIX/NMON desirable, especially from MXG. Very desirable running SAS/MXG from Windows or other non-Z platform.
- Knowledge of configuring and trouble-shooting IBM WLM (service classes, reporting classes, performance goals, capacity capping, and velocities, etc..)
- Experience in MQ, CICS, DB2, and DB2 distributed
- Experience in TMON or other mainframe z/OS system monitors
- Working knowledge of network communication protocols (TCPIP)
- Excellent knowledge of hardware infrastructure IBM z13, EMC/VMAX, DLM and HCD.
- Experienced in analytical modeling like IBM zPCR , zCP3000, BMC CMM Predict or or other modeling tools.
- Business application workload sizing and capacity forecasting
- Lead/participate in resolution of complex z/OS problems
- Strong skills to effectively communicate complex technology solutions across diverse audiences including technical, managerial, business executives, and vendors.
Systems Mainframe platforms and their associated Operation Systems and Tools including: (Nice to have)
- SYSPLEX and ICF configuration and tuning. Experience in de-coupling Sysplex environment is a plus.
- Systems Engineer Hands on Experience for z/OS, CICS, and MQ
- Experience with Middleware interfaces such as AIX, WebSphere, Networks, LDAP is preferred
