Maintenance Technician – Food Manufacturing (1st & 3rd Shift)

Schaumburg, Illinois

Shift Options:

  • 1st Shift: 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM

  • 3rd Shift: 10:00 PM – 7:30 AM

Job Summary:
We’re seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our production team in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for performing both preventative and emergency maintenance on critical equipment to ensure uninterrupted production and compliance with food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and emergency maintenance on mixers, ovens, conveyors, and packaging equipment

  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems

  • Replace or repair components such as motors, belts, bearings, sensors, and switches

  • Maintain equipment in accordance with HACCP, GMP, and other food safety regulations

  • Work closely with production staff to minimize downtime and improve equipment efficiency

  • Accurately read and interpret technical schematics, manuals, and diagrams

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience in a food production or baking environment

  • Proven mechanical and electrical troubleshooting expertise

  • Hands-on experience with industrial ovens, dough handling systems, and automated packaging lines

  • Knowledge of food manufacturing standards including HACCP, GMPs, and sanitation protocols

  • Ability to work independently and respond effectively under pressure

  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills

Important Note:
This position does not involve facility/building maintenance. Only candidates with direct production equipment maintenance experience in a food manufacturing environment will be considered.
